Things Move

Grade K-2, Physical, Things Move Unit
The book Things Move discusses how and why things move. It compares objects at rest and in motion and defines force as a push or a pull. Moving an object requires force, and an object's motion can be described in terms of its speed and direction. Stopping a moving object or changing its direction requires force, too. Gravity affects how things move by pulling them toward Earth's center. Being able to predict and describe how things move helps us as we work and play. This high-level book introduces another important force. Friction plays a part in slowing and stopping moving objects.
