Earth, Sun, and Stars

Earth, Sun, and Stars

Grade 5 - Space Systems: Stars and the Solar System

In this Storyline, students develop an understanding of how gravity affects objects on Earth. They explore the effects that Earth's shape, rotation, and orbit have on the number of daylight hours, length and direction of shadows, and seasonal appearance of stars in the night sky. Students also develop an understanding of why the apparent brightness and size of stars varies from small and dim to large and very bright.
