Jupiter, sometimes referred to as the king of planets, has sixty-six confirmed moons. Galileo first discovered four of Jupiter's large, prominent moons in 1610. Today, scientists continue to study Jupiter's many moons, observing volcanic activity and discovering that some contain a layer of salt water.
